Projects and Activities
Our Pilot club participates in a variety of projects throughout the year that involve fundraising and community service. We support several activities in our area to help those who are challenged on a daily basis with brain injuries or disorders.
Below are the projects and activities we are currently involved in:
- Project Lifesaver
- The Pilot Club of Greensboro and the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office have partnered to create Project Lifesaver, a radio-locating system for individuals who have Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Down syndrome, Autism or other brain-related disorders that cause people to wander. To learn more, visit www.pilotclubgreensboro.org or call 336-681-0526.
- BrainMindersTM is Pilot International’s signature program originally designed in 2001 to teach safety to children to help prevent brain injuries. It was made possible through an in-kind grant given to Pilot International Foundation and a gift from the estate of Callye Harrell Neese. Realizing the need to teach brain injury prevention to people of all ages, Pilots have expanded the program to include presentations for youth and seniors. Recently at the Pilot International 2017 Convention, the BrainMinders catalog of presentations was updated and presented to the membership. The Pilot Club of Greensboro is proud to offer this program to local elementary school age children in a variety of locations, If you have a group or classroom that would be interested in learning more about safety, please give us a call or email us. We also have a program designed for senior adults.
